God’s Timeline for Mankind

2 Peter 3:8   But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Twenty years ago Zola Levitt, a Jewish convert to evangelical Christianity, taught that God has provided the timeline for Mankind.

Genesis 2:3  Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

God made the heavens and the earth in six days and rested on the seventh.  By simply applying a day equals a thousand years rule, we see God’s creation lasting 6000 years with a 1000 year rest (Millennium Kingdom).  Years ago I purchased a large biblical/world history timeline wall chart that folds out to be about 20 feet long.  That timeline and author’s research placed Adam and Eve at 4004 BC.  This, no doubt, based on the Bible’s genealogy and related references.

This reflects a 4000 year old testament.  When added to the 2000 years of new testament, it totals 6000 years representing six days.  The seventh day is God’s promised Millennium Kingdom, a period of rest. This model indicates that the end times are near along with many other signs.

We must act accordingly and be prepared for Christ Jesus’ return.
